IT’S ALL ABOUT RESPECT

WOMEN FEEL RESPECTED WHEN THEY ARE CHERISHED, AND MEN FEEL LOVED WHEN THEY ARE RESPECTED.

I do take thee to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to CHERISH, till death do us depart.

CHERISH - To treat with tenderness and affection; to give warmth, ease or comfort; to hold as dear; to embrace with affection; to foster and encourage; to treat in a manner to encourage growth, by protection, aid, attendance, or supplying nourishment.

Jacob was in love with Rachel and said, “I’ll work for you seven years in return for your younger daughter Rachel.” Laban said, “It’s better that I give her to you than to some other man. Stay here with me.” So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, BUT THEY SEEMED LIKE ONLY A FEW DAYS TO HIM BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE FOR HER. Gen. 29:19-20

“A wife of noble character who can find? SHE IS WORTH FAR MORE THAN RUBIES. HER HUSBAND HAS FULL CONFIDENCE IN HER AND LACKS NOTHING OF VALUE. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” Pro, 31:10-12

HUSBANDS, LOVE YOUR WIVES, JUST AS CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH AND GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR HER. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church—for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”  Eph. 5

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. 1 Pet 3:7

Is this the way you feel about your wife?

Wilt thou have this man to they wedded husband? Wilt thou love him, comfort him, HONOR, and keep him, in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?

RESPECT - To view or consider with some degree of reverence; to esteem as possessed of real worth. To esteem or honor with deportment or course of action which proceeds from regard; as, to treat a person with respect.

A WIFE OF NOBLE CHARACTER WHO CAN FIND? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. SHE BRINGS HIM GOOD, NOT HARM, ALL THE DAYS OF HER LIFE. Pro, 31:10-12

Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, WHO OBEYED ABRAHAM AND CALLED HIM HER LORD. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear. 1 Pet. 3

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Eph. 5

Is this how you feel about your husband?

HOWEVER, EACH ONE OF YOU ALSO MUST LOVE HIS WIFE AS HE LOVES HIMSELF, AND THE WIFE MUST RESPECT HER HUSBAND. Eph. 5:21

IN THE END, IT IS RESPECT THAT IS THE EVIDENCE OF LOVE!
