THE JOY OF SEX

 

The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. ADAM AND HIS WIFE WERE BOTH NAKED, AND THEY FELT NO SHAME. Gen. 2:23-35

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” THIS IS A PROFOUND MYSTERY—BUT I AM TALKING ABOUT CHRIST AND THE CHURCH. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Eph. 5:31-33

At 70 years of age, it is my testimony that the sexual union between a man and a woman produces the most delicious pleasure that can be enjoyed in this life. Surely God designed the enjoyment of that pleasure irresistible so that we do sex so often that no matter “how careful” we are, we make babies! And so, the world goes on from generation to generation according to His plan.

As to the actual joy experienced “in becoming one flesh”, I believe it is a preview of the intensity of joy and pleasure each member of Christ’s body will experience personally in the presence of the Lord. “There are pleasures at my right hand forevermore!” Ya gotta love God for His gift of sexual intercourse as well as for sooooo many other blessings. But, “you haven’t seen nothin’ yet.”  The best is still yet to come. Every time you have sex, thank God, and look forward to the “Fullness of Joy” in His Presence!!!!!!!
